Biography
Dr. Engy Abdellatif graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and her grade was excellent with Honors. In 2008, she won a scholarship to study for a PhD in Osteoarticular Pathology at the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK. She has developed a special interest in Osteoarticular (bone and joint) pathology since that time. She was qualified as a histopathology consultant from the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, Cairo, Egypt in 2017. She is a member of the Clinical Trials Pathology Advisory Group Experts (CT-PAG), National Cancer Research Network, UK. She is a formally qualified clinical and educational supervisor from Edge Hill University, UK. Authorship roles : She is one of the authors for the bone and soft tissue section for the Pathology Outlines - a free online textbook in Patholog. Chapters: (Synovial Fluid chapter, Abdellatif E and Freemont AJ) Text Book of Rheumatology, 6th Edition, ISBN:9780702063039. Research:She was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK. The title of her research project was:Novel investigations of septic arthritis.She discovered a strong physical interaction between Procalcitonin which is an infection biomarker and Fibrinogen. This interaction will open a new avenue for the treatment and diagnosis of sepsis. Awards: She was awarded her first module of PGC from Edge Hill University, UK with Distinction.She was awarded her MBBCh from Cairo University with Excellent with Honor grade.
